Internet FAQ

What is High-Speed Internet?

High-Speed Internet is a service offered by West Central Telephone Association that creates a faster Internet connection than a standard dial-up connection.

How does High-Speed Internet work?

High-Speed maximizes the bandwidth capacity of fiber optic phone lines currently used for telephone service. By using higher frequencies, greater data rates can be achieved on the same line. In order to transform a telephone line into a high-speed line, equipment must be installed on both ends of the line at the customer`s residence or place of business and the local telephone central office.

Is High-Speed Internet available in my area?

All cooperative members have access to high-speed Internet. Contact West Central Telephone’s business office to verify availability.

How fast can I go?
