Hiring: Office Manager

West Central Telephone is a full-service telecom cooperative transforming rural communications with advanced fiber-to-the-premise technologies. We are seeking to hire an Office Manager to join our team.

The primary responsibilities of the Office Manager are to research, review, implement and monitor Customer Service & Regulatory functions in a timely manner. Including, but not limited to, customer billing, regulatory reporting and tariff reviews. The Office Manager will assist in the coordination and quality assurance of purchasing and inventory records while ensuring accuracy of all data. This position will also coordinate and make travel arrangements to include lodging and travel for WCTA employees as well as WCTA Directors. This position could support HR and Accounting functions as needed. The duties of this position will support WCTA, subsidiaries and affiliates as needed.

Education and Experience Desired

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration or related field, or 5+ years in equivalent position
  • 3+ years of management or quality assurance experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Considerable knowledge in telecommunications industry and terminology
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong ability to be self-motivated while executing agreed-upon strategies
  • Considerable ability to communicate well with a positive and friendly manner
  • Ability to display a high level of professionalism always
  • Skills in prioritizing and completing multiple projects
  • The ability to be well organized and accept responsibility for and work under occasional stressful situations with frequent interruptions
  • Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, the general public and to deal with public relations problems courteously and tactfully

Hiring: Network Engineer

Are you someone who knows your way around networking and firewalls, has a knack for working on concurrent IT projects, organizational skills and can provide an excellent customer experience? We want to talk to you!

West Central Telephone is a full-service telecom cooperative transforming rural communications with advanced fiber-to-the-premise technologies. We are seeking to hire a Network Engineer to join our team.

The Network Engineer will primarily be responsible to provide and carry out technical support for WCTA’s network operations, including systems that operate data, voice and TV services. The Network Engineer will lead IT related services for WCTA’s business and residential customers. Additionally, this position will oversee Network Security planning, development, implementation and verifying security standards across various network elements. This position will work independently to provide support to WCTA, WCTA subsidiaries and affiliates located in the Sebeka/Wadena County area as well as the Crosslake/Emily area.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related program; or at least 10 years of industry experience
  • CCNA certification or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years of networking experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of computer network products and services
  • Knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware and peripheral equipment including Cisco Router and IOS knowledge, OSI knowledge and ISP network delivering voice, data and video services
  • Advanced knowledge of Network Security implementation, maintenance and best practice
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN design
  • Knowledge of network technologies and platforms (Email, HTTP, TCP/IP, IPTV, VPN, etc.)
  • Skill in operating routers, switches, firewalls, routing protocols, etc.
  • Ability to display a high level of professionalism always
  • Ability as an aggressive problem solver, who is willing to learn and coachable
  • Skills in prioritizing and completing multiple projects
  • Ability to be well organized and work under occasional stressful situations with frequent interruptions.
  • Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, the general public and to deal with public relations problems courteously and tactfully
  • Ability to maintain a valid and insurable driver’s license
